Interview:
  1. Where did you get the idea for the novel?

Answer: My dreams are how my writing actually started, that is where Saskia was born. I dreamt about a man and women on a black horse going through a wall of fire. The dream lingered so I wrote it down, I had never tried to write a book before, but every time I revisited that page, I thought to myself, I wonder where they were going. And it started from there.

  1. Your title. Who came up with it? Did you ever change your title?
Answer: My sister actually, I was looking for a name of the world that I had created and she blurted out Saskia, it sounded perfect. Eden Forest which is the first title was because the grand finale is placed In Eden Forest so  I decided to call it Eden Forest Part one of the Saskia trilogy. I had loads of names for my book but this one felt right.

  1. Which came first, the title or the novel?

Answer: O the Novel first. I wrote it for myself and later on when my mum and sister picked up the manuscript and read it, that they said I should send this to a publisher, so I did, then the name which my sister helped with.

  1. Since becoming a writer, what’s the most exciting thing to ever happen to you?
Answer: Kelly Armstrong following my blog one of my favorite authors, I rang my mum (who didn’t have a clue who she was) practically screaming I was so so happy.

  1. What book are you currently reading or what was the last book you read?
Answer: Darkness of Light by Stacey Marie Brown. What a story just amazing. I now am a fan of hers.

  1. What was your first book that you ever wrote (very first one you wrote, not published)?
Answer: Weird but Eden Forest was the very first book I ever wrote, never tried before.

  1. What is your writing process?
Answer: I do a layout of what way I want the story to go, it doesn’t always end up the way, but I look at it as guidelines. If I was to plan everything it would take too long. As a character develops I find they take control, (hope that doesn’t sound too weird) but like if I put them in a situation where they have a choice, it depends on which one they choose, and it can change everything about the story. I don’t want the good guy to be always good or the bad guy to be really evil; everyone has a bit of both in them, and so does my characters.
  1. Who are your favorite authors of all time?
Answer: Marie V Snyder, Kelly Armstrong, Dan Brown, Charlene Harris. Really the list goes on, but these are some of my favorite ones.

  1. At a book signing, do you just sign your name or do you write a note? How do you come up with stuff to say?
Answer: No I always ask the person their name, then sign mine, and I might say happy reading or enjoy reading. Just something simple at the last book signing I had over 100 books to sign so my hand wasn’t doing so good, just needed to keep it short but personal.

  1. What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
Answer: I am a qualified Accountant technician (Yes the job that everyone associates with boring). Whenever I am doing a radio interview they always say what a jump and accountant to a fantasy writer, with a raised eyebrow. LOL

  1. How do you react to a bad review?
Answer: I can’t help it but I get really upset, and give myself some chocolate, while telling myself not everyone is going to like it. The first bad review I got made me cry and when I look back it wasn’t that bad I got 3 and half stars but was gutted.

  1. How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?
Answer: Well I sold 100 on the first night and had a launch with over 200 guests so it was a party one that I will never forgot and got taken out for loads of meals. Hope it happens with my second book City of Secrets.
