Where did
you get the idea for the novel? I was inspired to write The Howling Heart after watching the movie Blood and Chocolate and the television series Wolf Lake. I also draw inspiration for most of my stories from
attractive men I see on film, television, or the Web. They become my muses and
help me when I plan the characterizations of my heroes. For Riley, the hero in
this novel, I drew inspiration from British actor, Alex Pettyfer. I’ve always
wanted to see him play a werewolf, so I imagined him playing Riley when I wrote
the character.

Your
title. Who came up with it? Did you ever change your title? I came up with the
title, and it was my first choice.

Which
came first, the title or the novel? Definitely the title.
4.
Since
becoming a writer, what’s the most exciting thing to ever happen to you? The
model on the cover of my first novel, A
Rose to the Fallen, sent me pictures of himself holding the book. I never
thought I’d meet him online or he’d hear about my book. It was just
unbelievable for me.
5.
What book
are you currently reading or what was the last book you read? I’m not currently
reading anything, but the last book I read was Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris.
6.
What was
your first book that you ever wrote (very first one you wrote, not published)? The
first book I wrote was self-published, but the first story I wrote as an adult
was a Lord of the Rings fanfiction.
7.
What is
your writing process? When I write novels, I write an outline first. It
consists of all the information about each character, their descriptions and
relationships to one another. Then I write summaries of what I want to happen
in each chapter. If there is specific dialogue that I want to remember, I will
jot it down. As I write the story, I follow the outline and fill in the details
and dialogue.

Who are
your favorite authors of all time? Charlaine Harris, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and J.R.
Ward
9.
At a book
signing, do you just sign your name or do you write a note? How do you come up
with stuff to say? I’ve never had a book signing, but if I did, I’d
probably write a note for each person.
10.
What is
something people would be surprised to know about you? I write about romance,
but I’ve never been in love.
11.
How do
you react to a bad review? In the past, sometimes I would respond, but now I
just ignore them. It’s not worth the aggravation to get upset over a negative
review, especially when I’m used to them now.
12.
How did
you celebrate the sale of your first book? I didn’t celebrate, but I was proud
of myself, because publishing a book was one of my goals in life.

Bostic is a New Jersey-based romance author who enjoys unleashing her
