Book Tour: Fueled by Lust: Caelius by Celeste Prater Interview & Giveaway

BLURB:
Caelius Meron strips at Heat Seekers Male Revue just so he can find his mate. So imagine his shock when he finds her in a cooking class he was forced to attend. So what’s the problem? There’s twenty-two of them according to Rhia Brennan. Undaunted by her claim that he’s too young, Caelius battles every roadblock she places. But what if one may be too difficult to ignore?

Kallon Aceso knows exactly who should own his heart, but Ulixes Dionysus doesn’t appear to want it. But is it really something else buried so deep that it may keep them apart forever?

Travel with these two Insedi as they both chase their hearts desire, only to be thwarted by misconceptions and mistakes from the past. Can they scale these insurmountable walls, or will they have to walk away and forever mourn what they could never have?

Book 5 in the Fueled By Lust Series brings back the sexy males that make your legs tremble just by saying your name.

INTERVIEW:

1.    Where did you get the idea for the novel?

I had a vivid, in-depth dream about the characters. I was in this dark cavern and watched them forming out of a ball of misty fog. They were absolutely gorgeous, spoke English with a thick, sexy accent and they told me their names. That spiked my creative juices to go figure out where my visitors came from. The names Drusus, Severus, Cato, Lucien, Caelius, and Maxim are ancient Greek. During my freestyle ‘madness’ writing where I just let the thoughts flow and jot everything down whether it sounds insane or not, I discovered this alien race had human ancestors from ancient Rome. I wanted to know how that could have happened, how they got to Earth without using a spaceship, and why they were here. Each guy is trying to find their ‘other half’’ to stabilize their internal energy, so it begged for a series to be born.

Caelius’s story is number five and a culmination of small events that happened to him throughout the previous four books, so I definitely recommend that any new readers grab DRUSUS, SEVERUS, CATO, and LUCIEN before you dive into this one. Characters from the previous books are seen throughout the series and the storyline/plot is intricately tied together. Even still, you get a conclusion for the main hero/heroine in each installment.

2.    Your title. Who came up with it? Did you ever change your title?

I came up with the title and never changed it. It was absolutely perfect to the whole premise of the series. These guys have a symbiotic relationship with their planet through energy sharing. They’re not completely stable until they mate. Since all of their females perished, they had to return to Earth to further their species. Since Earth doesn’t connect to them as Insedivertus does, they needed an alternate source. By accident, they discovered that sensual/sexual desire was almost like the energy of their home world and could sustain them for long periods of time. They end up working as male strippers and male escorts to assure they have an abundance of the lifesaving energy, so basically…they’re FUELED BY LUST.

3.    Why did you pick this genre? What do you like about it?

It chose me by that dream I had of them. Anything that can form into a gorgeous, hunky man from pure energy, plus mind-talk with his brethren, had to be from another planet. I chose the erotic romance side because they were too yummy not to share what they’re capable of doing to a lucky earthling that gets claimed by one.

I find that I like this genre a lot. I get to color outside the lines. However, the series has also been embraced by lovers of contemporary since a majority of the story does take place on Earth as they attempt to blend in to the mundane life and survive just like all of us.

4.    Since becoming a writer, what’s the most exciting thing to ever happen to you?

I think the one thing that stands out the most was walking into the break room where I work and seeing someone with their nose buried in Drusus’s paperback. They had a smile on their face. It was surreal.

5.    What book are you currently reading or what was the last book you read?

The only books I read these days are mine. By time I finish writing, review for edits, and then go over it one more time…well. The last one that I did read was Pride and Prejudice. I’d seen the movie version and wanted to see how accurate it was to the book.

6.    What is your writing process?

I allow my dreams to take me to the next story. I guess I’m freer in that arena and the creative stuff just pours out. Once I have the basic info, I’ll sit down and just freestyle write like a pure nut bag. Whatever pops into my head gets written down. I’ll walk away from it for a bit and then return to find anything that makes any sense to where the characters want to go. I keep repeating this until the backbone of the story reveals itself. Then I’ll draw up a very loose outline of major events. Once I write the first line of dialog or build a scene it all becomes whatever is falling out of my head as I go along. Sometimes I have to back track if I’m trying to force a situation. It just won’t let me. If I just go with the flow, it usually takes me off on some surprising directions, but in the end it leads me right through every major bullet point I originally developed. I love it!

7.    At a book signing, do you just sign your name or do you write a note? How do you come up with stuff to say?

I haven’t been writing long enough to have enough people demanding that I show up for a signing—one day, hopefully. However, I have been asked to autograph the book. The first time was a very surreal moment. In my head I’m thinking, who the hell am I to be doing this? I’m just Celeste, but then I look down and yep, that’s my name on the cover. I’m grateful to anyone that has spent his or her hard-earned money on the series, so I always try to personalize it. If I know them, it’s easy. When I don’t, I search their face and try to find something unique to them. I’ll comment on their sunny personality, their beautiful smile, or their kind words. I absolutely love my fans!

8.    What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

That I read close to 600 erotic romance novels over a two-year period before I ever attempted to write one word of my own. I wanted to do something different, but still learn what riveted the readers. Another thing is the awful research I had to do to learn about male strippers so I could world build the guys place of business. I mean I had to go watch half-naked men performing choreographed skits and eww…talk to them (...you have GOT to know that I’m joking here…hunks? Anytime, anywhere!)
In fact, my covers are graced by some of the best male entertainers out there. If you don’t mind, I’d like to give a shout out to my adorable partners in crime.

Cisco Perez portrayed Severus. He’s with a male revue club out of Orlando, Florida called Rock Hard Revue. They just recently appeared on America’s Got Talent. Find Cisco on Facebook under Cisco Male Entertainer.

Devon Sutton is with Iron Men The Show in Cleveland, Ohio and did a great job as Cato with that awesome tat. Find him on twitter under @devonsutton75.

The awesome Richard Jimenez, producer for Magnificent 7 Male Revue out of Los Angeles introduced me to Lucien’s model and a Magnificent 7 entertainer, the very sexy and intelligent Axel. You can find them at http://magnificent7malerevue.com/

Valentino is an independent male entertainer and is the hunk you see on Caelius’s cover. All that hair is real ladies! He’s on Facebook under ValentinoMx.

Jason Spears is with a nutritional company out of Texas and will be the model for Maxim’s book. He’ll knock you out with his smile. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing his social media sites coming up soon.

9.    How do you react to a bad review?

The one time that I got a 2 Star rating and absolutely no comment as to why, my heart crashed to my belly. Oh my god! How could they not like Drusus? He’s such a sweetheart. Then I shot my ego in the head and killed it. The newly formed one has a layer of titanium and is much smarter. Everyone has the right to give his or her own opinion. That’s their right. I may not be to someone’s taste, or I could also be the victim of what I consider a ‘drive-by hate rating’ and they didn’t even read it. It is what it is. I’ll live.

10. How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?

I immediately unchained myself from my desktop computer. I now have a sleek laptop and a cushy lap desk with a built in fan. Nirvana!

EXCERPT:
The heavily accented voice coming through the phone oozed sexy, virile man and sent chills skittering across her skin.

“I have a confession, my bellula.”

Rhia wasn’t even surprised at the shot of tingles traveling her skin and making a direct beeline to her clit. He’d whispered that word across her skin before. She tried to steady her breath.

“Okay, so confess.” Umm, he was growling now. That shit just did crazy things to her girly parts. She was toast. Fine hairs rose across her skin, as if tuning in to that sensuous sound.

“I find it very arousing that you think of me in that way. Even when I’m at my worst, you view me in a positive light. I wish you were here with me right now. Do you miss my touch, Rhia?”

She could barely get her words past a soft whisper. “Yes. Very much.”

Rhia heard the distinctive rustle of material again and pictured him shifting on the bed. She imagined him sliding a broad hand down his chest, across the ridges of his abs, and resting just above his groin. She grabbed a pillow and released a moan deep into the fabric.

“Are you in your bed, Rhia?”

“Yes.”

“Will you do something for me?”

“Of course. Yes.”

“Turn the TV off and lower the lights.”

“It’s off and only the bathroom light’s on. It’s dim in here.”

“Good. Tell me what you’re wearing.”
The words spewed out of her mouth. She wanted to get to the next part as quickly as possible. “Button down blouse and shorts.”

“Are you wearing a thong?”

Her breath hitched.

“Yes. What are you wearing, Caelius?” A low rumble sounded against her ear.

“Nothing. Absolutely nothing. There’s a thin sheet resting across my hips. Does that turn you on, Rhia?”

AUTHOR Bio and Links:
I was born and raised in a small town between Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin. Wanting to see more than my small Texas town, I joined the Marines, which satisfied my craving to see more of the U.S. and my drive to see if I could be one of the few and the proud.

A firm believer in educating the mind, I have achieved several advanced degrees, the latest being a master’s of science.

My true love is writing erotic romance, especially about alien hunks that know how to treat their females.

Drusus, Severus, Cato, Lucien, Caelius, Maxim and many more have swirled in my dreams until I had to bring them to life and allow them to find love within the pages of the Fueled by Lust book series.

Book 1 DRUSUS was nominated as Top 5 Finalist and placed 3rd in the 2014 RWA Passionate Ink’s 9th Annual Passionate Plume Book Contest in Erotic SciFi/Fantasy Category, Book 2 SEVERUS achieved BEST BOOK review rating and won April 2014 BOOK OF THE MONTH Reader Poll at LONG AND SHORT REVIEWS, Book 3 CATO won the May/June 2014 BOOK OF THE MONTH Reader Poll at LONG AND SHORT REVIEWS.
