Jenna's Consent by Jennifer Kacey Researching the Book & Giveaway

BLURB:
Members Only, Book Six

Every night Jenna spends hours preparing submissives for their Doms at The Library. She encourages them, reassures them as they take a step into the forbidden and urges them never to settle. But when it comes to her own journey, she’s spent years hiding, trapped within the steel cage of her corsets. She can’t hide any longer.

Nick has wanted her since the moment he laid eyes on her but she’s always told him no. Until now. She agrees to be his submissive for a night but he wants more…much more. He unwittingly brings in the one man Jenna never stopped loving and, on the cusp of everything’s he’s ever wanted, he’s not the only one fighting for her heart.

Ian can’t forget her…his Jenna. He walked away years ago, but not this time. This time he’ll settle for nothing but her complete submission.

Three people unable to let go of the past must learn that love—above all else—is worth fighting for.

Researching the Book by Jennifer Kacey
Jenna’s Consent is Book #6 in the Members Only Series. It’s actually the 8th book out of 9 that are out with little quickies mixed into the group! Yea for smut!!
Jenna! I love her. I’ve wanted to write her story ever since I finished Together in Cyn and she’s notoriously been the most asked about character. Everyone wanted to know when Jenna was getting her own book. No if, but WHEN!!
The world already being in place when writing a book is amazing to me. Almost, as if it’s a real place somewhere just down the road a bit and around a few corners. Having established characters and personalities with a large group of friends is so fun to explore! Characters can be ever changing or remain exactly in the same spot if that’s where they’re supposed to be.
Jenna’s book marked a big turning point in my personal kink story.
See…I’m a kinky girl. As in, I get to live some of the things my characters experience. I don’t just do research for a book. I do RESEARCH for my books.
I want them to be accurate. But even more so I want them to be authentic. Going back and reading what I’ve written will remind me of a person, a scene, a conversation I’ve had. Makes them incredibly special.
Everyone’s kink is different. What you like. What you don’t like can sometimes be an even more interesting subject matter. People always say love and hate are two sides of the same coin. Physically people can react the same way to each, so writing about something you don’t like or maybe even more importantly something you’re scared of can make a VERY interesting scene / storyline / book.
OK, so back to my turning point.
Rope.
Jenna’s book focuses very heavily on Shibari rope bondage. Self-suspension and her bottoming in rope to her Doms.
I like rope. A. Lot.
It’s beautiful and painful and comforting and amazing. You can learn a lot about yourself and the people around you if you’re open enough to hear what that little person inside is telling you. Sometimes even harder when that little person inside you is scared or sad or hurt. Rope gives me that cathartic space in the world to just…be. And listen to things I’m normally too busy to hear. It’s a very special place I wish more people were lucky enough to experience.
Rope is difficult to explain. The mechanics of it very much so as well as the emotional state of both the rigger and bottom and if the rigger is a self-suspender that makes a gigantic difference too.
I may have also tried a few whips, canes, a sadistic stick or two and the ole’ tried and true hand to backside is delicious.
Jenna’s story and her men have been set in stone for a couple years. But what surprised me were the twists and turns their story took along the way from point A to point Z. I am forever changed from writing this book.
What she needs, who she is, and the acceptance of herself was an amazing experience to write.
I hope my writing speaks for itself and I hope it speaks to you…

EXCERPT:
“Run that by me again…”

Yeah, she decided it was worth it just to see Mr. Cool Calm & Collected flounder for a few seconds while he tried to reboot his brain to process her out of the blue answer. His usual smirk reappeared before she could speak.
“You heard me, Casanova.” His gray eyes narrowed and his jaw clenched at the taunt.
He hated the nickname and it made the sting of giving in a little bit easier to swallow. Her pride was going to undoubtedly suffer but she decided to go down swinging.
She’d put on her turquoise corset with floral panels, highlighting her small waist and large chest. And she’d paired it with a cream tutu, fishnet stockings and a pair of high heels most drag queens would be jealous of.
Whoever said that power came in a pair of stilettos was definitely a woman.
“I said yes. You’ve been asking me the same question for months so surely you haven’t forgotten the request yet?”
For a moment longer he stood a few steps away, posture relaxed. Anyone else who cared to look at them across the bar probably saw what he wanted them to see. The unruffled, self-possessed manner that he always exuded with ease. But she saw the darkness he thought no one else noticed.
Thankfully, the regulars probably thought they were having a normal conversation. It wouldn’t be abnormal, since they were both employees. Well, two employees in the private bar of The Library, a private BDSM club in Arcadia, Kansas.
Their conversation was as far from normal as most vanilla people could get and he was as far from calm as she’d ever seen him in public.
His ghostly eyes seemed to scan the room. He probably saw the long bar with stools on one side, the mass of tables in the middle and the booths around the far wall. He nodded to someone who she didn’t know and then the distance between them disappeared as he stepped closer. His body heat enveloped her and the tips of her breasts tingled as his muscled pectorals brushed against them.
