Interview:

  1. Where did you get the idea for the novel?
I really don’t know. Ideas usually just pop up in my head, sometimes for no reason. Usually it is just an idea for a scene, or the voice of a character telling a part of a story.

  1. Your title. Who came up with it? Did you ever change your title?
I came up with the title. I did change titles from books that I wrote, but not from “Creatures of Fire”.

  1. Which came first, the title or the novel?
The novel came first. With me it is usually that way: First there is an idea, then –when I am lucky- the result is a novel. And then I start thinking about a title.

  1. Since becoming a writer, what’s the most exciting thing to ever happen to you?
The most exciting thing was my first publishing contract. After having tried for almost twenty years to get a publishing deal it was one of  the happiest days of my life.

  1. What book are you currently reading or what was the last book you read?
I am currently reading “Iced” from Karen Moning.

  1. What was your first book that you ever wrote (very first one you wrote, not published)?
The first book I ever wrote was “Yuza” a story about an indian woman. The book was never published, which is a good thing :). I still like the story, so there might come the day when I sit down, rewrite it and publish it.

  1. What is your writing process?
Pretty chaotic. I usually don’t have more than a few ideas for one or two scenes. I take it from there and am often curious myself what the final outcome will be and what will happen in between.

  1. Who are your favorite authors of all time?
Agatha Christie, Joanne K. Rowling, Dan Brown, Karen Moning, Sophie Kinsella.

  1. At a book signing, do you just sign your name or do you write a note? How do you come up with stuff to say?
All of my books are published as ebooks, so I have never been at a book signing.

  1. What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I believe many would be surprised to know that I am a pretty good cook.

  1. How do you react to a bad review?
It depends. If it gives reasons why the reader didn’t like the book I can learn from it. These are the reviews I appreciate, even if they are bad. If someone just states that the book is rubbish/boring/not worth to be read. Well, there isn’t much I can do about it. It makes me sad, but fortunately not for long.

  1. How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?
I danced in my kitchen :).
